DMCA Policy

Companion CO Design holds intellectual property in high regard. We are fully committed to complying with applicable copyright laws, including the Digital Millennium Copyright Act (“DMCA”). Our blog provides valuable insights into interior design, home styling, and decorating ideas for our general readership. We expect all users, contributors, and partners to respect the intellectual property rights of others.

This DMCA Policy outlines the procedures for copyright holders to notify us of alleged infringement and for users to file counter-notifications regarding content that may have been wrongly removed. We take all claims of copyright infringement seriously and will respond to valid notices promptly.

Filing a DMCA Takedown Notice

If you are a copyright owner or an agent authorized to act on behalf of one and believe that content appearing on companioncodesign.com infringes upon your copyright, you may submit a formal DMCA Takedown Notice. Your notice must include all of the following information:

  • A physical or electronic signature of the copyright owner or a person authorized to act on their behalf.
  • Identification of the copyrighted work claimed to have been infringed, or, if multiple copyrighted works are covered by a single notification, a representative list of such works.
  • Identification of the material that is claimed to be infringing or to be the subject of infringing activity and that is to be removed or access disabled, and information reasonably sufficient to permit Companion CO Design to locate the material (e.g., specific URL).
  • Information reasonably sufficient to permit Companion CO Design to contact the complaining party, such as an address, telephone number, and email address (e.g., [email protected]).
  • A statement that the complaining party has a good faith belief that use of the material in the manner complained of is not authorized by the copyright owner, its agent, or the law.
  • A statement that the information in the notification is accurate, and under penalty of perjury, that the complaining party is authorized to act on behalf of the owner of an exclusive right that is allegedly infringed.

Please send your complete DMCA Takedown Notice to our designated Copyright Agent via email at [email protected].

Counter-Notification Process

If you believe that your content was removed or access disabled due to a mistake or misidentification of the material, you have the right to submit a counter-notification. A counter-notification must be in writing and include the following elements:

  • Your physical or electronic signature.
  • Identification of the material that has been removed or to which access has been disabled and the location where the material appeared before it was removed or disabled.
  • A statement under penalty of perjury that you have a good faith belief that the material was removed or disabled as a result of mistake or misidentification of the material to be removed or disabled.
  • Your name, address, and telephone number.
  • A statement that you consent to the jurisdiction of the Federal District Court for the judicial district in which your address is located (or if you are outside the United States, for any judicial district in which Companion CO Design may be found), and that you will accept service of process from the person who provided the original DMCA notification or an agent of such person.

Please send your counter-notification to our designated Copyright Agent at [email protected].
